Ricoooolaaaaa!

Swiss packaging is so fun! Have you ever had those really cool boxes with Swiss candy? I think they're ingenious because they snap close with that nice clicky feel--even though the whole box is just made of paper. And they never break either!

I also like how they have something written underneath the cap when you flip it up.

I have only seen the bag packaging but not the boxes. The box gives a nice feel to the packaging.

This is my favorite box packaging! The boxes actually stay closed. That's if they don't get ruined in my bag.

They also can be used as a juice or a gum box for kids.

I remember Ricola from when I was a kid, especially the commercial. I think that the design hasn't changed since! Does anyone know if that's true?

The commercials were dull, but the packaging definitely had a "you had to have it" and "it's so cool" appeal to it. I, too, agree that having something to read whenever you flip open the box top gets the consumer involved, thus another incentive to buy more of Ricola's products--smart. Plus, anything overseas just seems to taste better and have more flair.

I think the reason why Ricola stands out is because few cough drop-related products are sold in quaint little cardboard boxes. I mean, take the packaging for Pringles and compare it to other brands of potato chips. Putting mundane items in interesting containers makes mundane items interesting.
